Sierra Madre Vineyard, Scent of the Ocean

From Sierra Madre Vineyard, you can smell the ocean from the vine-covered bluffs that rise up on sandy soils just 15 miles from the salty Pacific. One of only two transverse valleys in California that freely draw in cool Pacific fog to vineyards at night and burn it off over sunny California afternoons, the wide Santa Maria River Valley features ideal climatic conditions for ultra-premium wine grapes. The reliable afternoon winds from the ocean with the sandy soils especially benefit our Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes: delicious.

Thank you for visiting Sierra Madre Vineyard’s website. I hope you’ll take the opportunity to read about our historic Santa Maria Valley vineyard and the fine producers who have made wine from it over the past three decades.

My wife and I were blessed with the stewardship of this celebrated gem in 2003. We continue to sell most of our fruit to the most incredible Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producers in California.

I welcome your comments on our site, and our wines. Please feel free to reach me at doug@sierramadrevineyard.com.
